Interested in a career in Corrections or Law Enforcement? Our Associate of Science Degree in Criminal Justice provides students with a basic foundation of the American criminal justice and corrections systems. You'll also learn about crime prevention and protecting our state’s natural resources.
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
The program is designed primarily as a transfer program for students who plan to continue their studies at a four-year university. However, students are also prepared to enter the workforce immediately after graduation in certain phases of law enforcement or corrections.
WHERE: The program can be completed in person at the Lafayette campus or online at all our campuses.

- Officers can receive up to 15 credit hours of prior learning for completion of a Peace Officer Standards and Training Academy (POST).
- Prior credit may also be awarded for military credit.

FLEXIBLE OPTIONS
A 2+2 pathway offers students the opportunity to complete the first half of a bachelor’s degree program at SoLAcc. After earning an associate degree at SoLAcc, students seamlessly transfer to a partnering university to complete the second half of the chosen pathway, leading to their bachelor’s degree.
Students can complete the Associate of Science in Criminal Justice at SoLAcc and transfer credit hours applied to the Criminal Justice degree for partial fulfillment of degree requirements for the Bachelor of Arts degree in Criminal Justice at Northwestern State University or Nicholls State University.
