The St. Mary Chamber of Commerce will partner with SLCC’s Corporate College to host lunch and learns in the Morgan City area to present topics that will offer best practices to businesses in areas such as marketing and recruiting.
Donna Meyer, President of the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce stated “On behalf of the St. Mary Chamber Board of Directors, I am very excited about the upcoming “Lunch and Learn” programs being hosted by SLCC’s Corporate College. The Chamber is very pleased to co-sponsor programs that help bring value to the business community.”
“We are thrilled to partner with the St. Mary Chamber of Commerce to host events to help local companies grow”, says Outreach and Engagement Coordinator for SLCC’s Corporate College, Nancy Roy. “We’ve found that creating a casual learning environment combined with a networking opportunity works well for small business owners.”
The first lunch and learn will be held on Tuesday, July 10 from 11:30am-1pm at the Young Memorial Campus and will address “Reducing Expenses through Retention and Recruiting”. The September 11 and November 13 topics of discussion will be “How to Write an Effective Press Release” and “Best Practices for Using Social Media to Promote Your Business”, respectively.
Tickets for each of the events are available now through Eventbrite by searching SLCC. Catered lunch will be provided for all paid attendees.
South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) created the Corporate College in 2015 to offer continuing education courses, leisure learning programs, and customized training for businesses. Marine Operations and Safety programs were added to the Corporate College offerings in 2017 with the transition of Young Memorial Campus in Morgan City and Marine and Corporate Training Center in Houma to SLCC from SCL.
The St. Mary Chamber of Commerce is proud to be an active partner with the community and government leaders in promoting positive economic growth.
