South Louisiana Community College’s Corporate College division is now offering two new Project Management courses.
The first course, Introduction to Project Management, introduces concepts and establishes a baseline for understanding project management terminology. Participants will learn how to apply project management to their work and create sustainable action plans for on-the-job application.
The second course, Advanced Project Management, explores concepts like reducing project duration, leadership, performance evaluation and managing project teams. Participants will also have an opportunity to investigate project management career paths.
“The first course allows students to study basic project management concepts which they will be able to apply to their current jobs. Our more advanced course is for participants who desire a career in project management,” said Jermaine Ford, director of SLCC’s Corporate College.
Each course runs for 10 weeks and class is held at SLCC’s Lafayette Campus. The introductory course will begin on Tuesday, January 10, 2017. Classes will be held on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 4 p.m. to 5:30 p.m. The Advanced Project Management course will begin Wednesday, March 8, 2017. Classes will be held Wednesday, Thursday and Friday from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
