The Corporate College Division of South Louisiana Community College will be offering a Louisiana Concealed Carry and Basic Pistol Safety course on Saturday, April 22 from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. on the Lafayette Campus.
The course consists of eight hours of training including range time. Upon completion, applicants are qualified to apply for a Louisiana Concealed Weapons permit. The cost of the course includes a learner’s packet through the National Rifle Association, application for permit, Notary fee and lunch.
Participants must be 21 years of age or older and have a valid driver’s license, a firearm and 50 rounds of ammunition. Attendees must also bring proper hearing and eye protection for the live shooting portion of the class which is held off-site.
The course is approved by the Louisiana State Police. The fee for the course is $185. A firearm and ammunition for the course can be furnished for an additional $30.
