If the SLCC Library does not have an item you need, an Interlibrary Loan (ILL) request may be the solution.

ILL is a service that allows you the potential to borrow books, DVDs, music, etc. that are owned by other libraries.

Also, if you need an article from a magazine, academic journal, or trade journal that another library owns you can submit an ILL request that a photocopy of it be sent to the SLCC Library for you to pick up.

IMPORTANT: Not all requests may be approved. It will depend on the decision of the other library that owns the requested material. In addition, it can sometimes take up to two weeks for your request to be processed and the item delivered to the SLCC Library.

If you have any questions, please call or email the SLCC Library at (337) 521 - 8927 or Library@solacc.edu

Click here if you would like to fill out and submit an Interlibrary Loan request.

IMPORTANT: This service is for faculty only.  Requests must be submitted at least one week in advance.  Instructors must be present with the class for the entire duration of the instruction.

If you would like to request instruction for multiple sections that you teach then please fill out a form for each one.

Questions may be directed to Bill French at (337) 521 - 8998 or bill.french@solacc.edu

A LOUIS Card will allow you to check out materials from participating libraries that are LOUIS members. For example, if you have a LOUIS Card, you would be able to check out items from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette (ULL) library or the Louisiana State University Libraries.

The LOUIS card is the result of a reciprocal borrowing agreement among the Louisiana Library Network (LOUIS) member libraries designed to enhance the resources available to the academic library user community.

Click here for more information about which libraries allow you to check out materials with a LOUIS Card.

IMPORTANT:

  • You are responsible for all items you check out from another library.
  • You must follow the other library's circulation policy for LOUIS card users. For example, their loan period, late fees, etc.
  • LOUIS Cards expire at the end of the current semester for students and at the end of the current academic year for faculty.
  • You must return the items you checked out to the library from which you got them.
