Donors, community college leaders, and students will be marking the halfway point in construction of SLCC’s new Health and Sciences Building on its Lafayette Campus with a wall signing event on Friday near the entrance of the building. The new building is a three-story, 63,000-square-foot building. Construction began this Spring, and the new building is expected to be open for the Spring 2017 semester. The college’s Registered Nursing program will anchor the building, which will also include the Practical Nursing program and other allied health programs. The state-of-the-art facility will contain an auditorium for up to 250 people; high-tech classrooms, computer labs, and conference rooms; health care laboratories, and a virtual hospital. STEM courses will also be located in the new building, which contains wet and dry science labs.
