At SLCC, we'll prepare you for a career in the oil and gas industry. We gathered industry leaders to help map out our degree program to ensure your success after graduation. As part of our Oil and Gas Production Technology degree program, you will learn the 'ins and outs' of oil and gas exploration, drilling, completions, and production operations. Students will earn a technical diploma upon successful completion of this one-year (45-credit hour) program at our New Iberia Campus. Classes for this program start in the Fall and Spring.

We've added in some benefits as well.

  • Students will earn three industry-based certifications – Safe Land/Safe Gulf, Production Operations, and Production Safety Systems (T2) as they progress through the program.
  • Graduates of the program can expect to earn a great living. The estimated average salary for four- and five-star jobs in the oil and gas industry is more than $50,000 annually.
