Dr. Caronda Bean, SLCC’s Director of Dual Enrollment, is one of 18 leaders across the United States selected to participate in an intensive leadership academy from the National Alliance of Concurrent Enrollment Partnerships (NACEP).
Of the opportunity, Bean noted, “Being selected to participate in the Leadership Academy and serve on the Advocacy Commission for NACEP is very exciting. I’m looking forward to the networking opportunities and learning more about the federal policies process for higher education.”
NACEP is a leading national organization that supports programs, practitioners, and policy to advance dual enrollment and concurrent programs.
The NACEP Leadership Academy welcomes professionals from state agencies, administrators and educators from four-year colleges, community and technical colleges, and K-12 systems. This year-long experience, anchored in strategic leadership curriculum, will combine virtual meetings and in-person retreats. The most recent Leadership Academy kicked off in November 2021 and will culminate at the 2022 NACEP National Conference in Minneapolis in November 2022. See the full Class of 2022.
“Dr. Bean has always exhibited the highest caliber of leadership in all that she does here at SLCC and throughout the community she serves on behalf of the College,” said Andre Perez, SLCC Executive Director for Academic and Strategic Initiatives. “Being accepted into NACEP’s Leadership Academy Class of 2022 is truly an honor and will only strengthen her capacity to lead SLCC’s Pre-College and Dual Enrollment efforts.”
She has also been appointed to serve as the Region 3 representative on the NACEP Advocacy Commission. This commission works to strengthen communication with policy-making governmental agencies and develop and maintain a positive image for dual and concurrent enrollment programs.
Bean joined SLCC in 2018 as the Director of Dual Enrollment.
