Maraist Family Foundation donates to Foundation for SoLAcc

The Foundation for SoLAcc (South Louisiana Community College) has received a $15,000 gift from the Maraist Family Foundation to establish the Maraist Family Foundation Endowed Scholarship in Workforce Programs, creating new opportunities for students pursuing high-demand careers across the region.

South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) Chancellor Dr. Vincent June has been named the 2026 recipient of the Difference Maker Award, presented by Studer Education during the Destination High Performance Higher Education Leadership Conference, held June 1–2 in Pensacola Beach, Florida.

South Louisiana Community College (SoLAcc) will officially launch the General Motors Automotive Service Educational Program (GM ASEP) beginning in Fall 2026, becoming the only college in Acadiana to offer the nationally recognized automotive training program.

SoLAcc is celebrating 10 years of its Registered Nursing (RN) program, marking a decade of preparing highly skilled nurses and strengthening healthcare across Acadiana. Since its first graduating class in 2016, SoLAcc has produced 465 registered nursing graduates, with an additional 95 students completing the program in Spring 2026.
