Cleco is investing in the future of Louisiana’s workforce with a $30,000 grant to SoLAcc's Power Line Worker Program. The funding will support scholarships and program enhancements, further strengthening the pipeline of skilled workers in the energy industry.
A check presentation was held Tuesday, April 1, at 8:30 a.m. at SoLAcc’s Crowley Campus. Of the grant, $5,000 will fund five $1,000 scholarships, while the remaining $25,000 will provide essential program supplies and equipment to ensure students receive hands-on, industry-aligned training.
“SoLAcc is committed to equipping students with the skills needed to power our communities, and Cleco’s generous investment helps make that possible,” said Lana Fontenot, Executive Director of the Foundation for SoLAcc and Vice Chancellor of Institutional Advancement. “This partnership directly supports our students and strengthens Louisiana’s workforce.”
“Cleco is proud to support SoLAcc’s Power Line Worker Program, which plays a critical role in preparing the next generation of skilled professionals in the energy industry,” said Andre Guillory, Cleco’s chief customer officer. “By investing in scholarships and hands-on training, we are helping build a stronger workforce that will keep our communities powered for years to come.”
