Helio Workshop – 8 Ways to Make your Self-Study Meaningful Beyond Accreditation (Half-Day)
Monday, July 24th – I:00 pm – 4:00pm
Session Description:
Self-studies serve a number of important purposes besides reaccreditation. Taking a deeper dive into your institutional effectiveness and improvement data regularly can help you and your team foster growth and opportunities that can direct future planning and resource allocations. Your self-study is a requirement, but it's also the perfect opportunity for meaningful reflection that can serve you before and after an accreditor comes knocking at your door.
Through a community of practice approach, attendees at this workshop will dig to identify their assessment and accreditation challenges, identify opportunities to make their self-study and review processes integrated, and design a plan for merging improvement practices with other assessment initiatives across campus through methods outlined in a recent article for the Society of College and University Planning, such as agile wayfinding, linking outcomes and planning to evidence and designing workflows and review processes that support the culture for improvement at your institution.
Presenter: Suzanne Carbonaro, Director of Academic Partnerships, HelioCampus
