South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) is proud to announce that two team members will participate in the Acadia Parish 2023 Leadership EXCEL Class: Acadian Campus Director Mary Morrison, and Director of Transportation, Distribution, and Logistics Charlotte LeLeux. In her leadership role with SLCC, Morrison is responsible for the day-to-day operations and community mission of the Acadian Campus. In her role, LeLeux helps cultivate, educate, and elevate the workforce of Acadia Parish.
Acadia’s 2023 Leadership EXCEL Class offers experience-based training sessions by recognized leaders whose decisions impact the region in areas such as economic development, business, labor, human services, education, law and justice, government, and the media.
“This is a great opportunity,” explains Morrison. “My role is one of service to Acadia Parish and the community on behalf of SLCC. I’m excited to learn even more about how the college can improve the lives of people in Acadia Parish. This program is designed to increase our knowledge of the community and I hope to use that knowledge and experience going forward.”
A small class of men and women have been selected from the applicants to represent a cross-section of the Acadia region. Both Morrison and LeLeux have demonstrated a commitment to the community, both personally and through their roles with SLCC.
“I’m in this community day in and day out because of my work with SLCC. The future skilled workers of Acadia Parish are already shaping tomorrow,” says LeLeux. “I know this program will help me gain additional insight into the needs for continued success for students, industry, and the overall local community workforce pipeline. I’m excited about the opportunity.”
