South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) is proud to announce its annual Student Showcase, taking place on Wednesday, April 12th from 10am to 2pm.
This event, which is open to prospective students, local business leaders, and the general public, is an opportunity for SLCC students to display their skills and showcase the cutting-edge technology and training available at the college.
The SLCC Student Showcase is an excellent platform for students to exhibit the talents they have acquired through their coursework and training at the college. The culinary department will showcase its talents with a Mexican Hotdog (a hot dog wrapped in bacon then deep fried), a salsa station, and a knife skills demo. There will also be a student art show and demonstrations featuring virtual reality (Z space), virtual welding, criminal justice techniques, pipe bending, and more. The live demonstrations and presentations will highlight the diverse skill sets of the future workforce.
"We are excited to host this event and showcase the incredible work our students have accomplished," said Dr. Vincent June, Chancellor of South Louisiana Community College. "This event provides a valuable opportunity for the public and local businesses to see the high-quality education and training our students receive, which prepares them for success in their future careers."
SLCC's Student Showcase provides a chance for the community to connect with the college, its programs, and its students. Attendees will have the opportunity to speak with faculty members, students, and industry partners to learn more about the programs and career opportunities available at SLCC.
The Student Showcase event will be held in SLCC’s Devalcourt Auditorium (320 Devalcourt St.) in Lafayette.
