SLCC’s Economic & Workforce Development Department will host a job fair focused on the industrial trades on Tuesday, April 18, 2023, from 9 a.m. to noon at SLCC New Iberia campus located at 908 Ember Dr. This hiring event is free and open to the public.
Welders, truck drivers, line workers, machinists, mechanics, riggers and other skilled trades people will have an opportunity to meet local companies hiring for positions in the industrial trades. SLCC encourages job seekers to dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resumes.
Stuller, Rhino Staging and Metal Shark are among the 35 companies that will be exhibiting at the Industrial Trades Job Fair. In addition to meeting with hiring employers, attendees will also be able to speak with representatives from local organizations that can assist them with their job search or additional training.

“Helping skilled tradespeople find employment with businesses that are hiring in Louisiana is our goal for the Industrial Trades Job Fair,” stated Nancy Roy, Director of Client Relations and Student Recruitment for SLCC’s Economic & Workforce Development. “We’ve found that businesses that need to fill positions with certified and licensed skilled workers have more success in finding quality candidates at in-person events.”
SLCC’s Economic & Workforce Development Department was established in 2015. This division of SLCC offers short-term training for in-demand jobs to meet the needs of the community’s workforce.
