South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) is pleased to announce the appointment of Dr. Andre Perez as Associate Vice Chancellor for External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives. Dr. Perez recently served as Executive Director for Academic and Strategic Initiatives and has been a respected member of the SLCC family for more than 10 years, three of those as an adjunct instructor.
In his former role as Executive Director, Dr. Perez was instrumental in launching the College’s International School of Aviation Excellence, Adult Education, and Prison Education programs. He also once led efforts for the SLCC-National EMS Academy (NEMSA) partnership, TRiO Educational Opportunity Centers (EOC), and Dual Enrollment programs.
As Associate Vice Chancellor for External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives, he will play a key role in supporting the Office of the Chancellor in handling a range of college and external affairs issues of institutional importance in addition to activities related to strategic project initiatives. Also, Dr. Perez will be instrumental in facilitating and guiding various organizational communications, public involvement, community awareness, and community and government relations initiatives.

Dr. Perez expressed his enthusiasm for the new role by stating, “I am honored and humbled to serve SLCC as Associate Vice Chancellor for External Affairs and Strategic Initiatives. I am excited to begin this new role with vim and vigor and am confident my many years of experience in communications, community & government relations, and strategic planning have prepared me to help bring the College to even greater heights.”
