South Louisiana Community College’s Beta Xi Omega chapter of Phi Theta Kappa International Honor Society in collaboration with the Student Government Association and Diversity and Inclusion Programming Board is fighting hunger insecurity in the Acadiana community with a “Solidarity—Not Charity—Food Drive” on March 31, 2021. Food items can be dropped off by driving through Lot I at SLCC, 1101 Bertrand Drive, anytime between 11 a.m. and 4 p.m.

Today, Cleco made a $20,000 donation to South Louisiana Community College (SLCC) to establish an endowed scholarship for the college’s Power Lineman and Electrical programs.

Christine Payton, South Louisiana Community College’s director of Communications and Marketing, recently was re-appointed to the National Council for Marketing and Public Relations’ national board. Payton, re-appointed by the board’s executive officers, is serving a two-year term as a Director-At-Large.
