lpn to rn

Program Overview

The LPN to RN Transition Track is an accelerated pathway for licensed practical nurses (LPNs) to become Registered Nurses (RNs).

This pathway equips you with the knowledge and skills needed to excel in the nursing profession and prepares you for the NCLEX-RN, the national exam required for RN licensure. The track includes three semesters of coursework combined with credit for prior learning.

Not an LPN? You can enroll in our Associate of Science in Registered Nursing to become an RN or apply to our Practical Nursing Program to become a PN.

WHEN/WHERE: Starts every summer in Opelousas and New Iberia.

CLINICALS:

Students will have the opportunity to make clinical rounds at different healthcare settings in the Acadiana area, including acute care facilities, outpatient facilities, home health agencies, and hospice care. Some courses in the program have prerequisites, which must be completed before enrolling in upper-level courses and continuing in the program.
